Our facilities operate using renewable energy sources like solar and wind power, while we optimize energy consumption with advanced technologies. At Exide, we prioritize resource conservation by minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency across our operations. Our manufacturing facilities adopt a comprehensive 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) approach to ensure efficient water utilization, leveraging innovative technologies, efficient processes, and robust monitoring systems to optimize water use per unit of output. We also integrate resource efficiency into product development, aiming to increase the use of recycled raw materials.

In FY 2024-25, we maintained usage of 75.0% recycled lead/lead alloys and increased use of recycled plastic to 16% in our products. Adhering to Waste Management Rules and the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework, we are committed to waste minimization and promoting a circular economy. We are on track to achieve zero waste to landfill by 2030, with a 3.43% improvement in waste intensity Y-o-Y basis and a 43% reduction in waste sent to landfill from FY 2022-23.

We improve the resilience of our supply chains through structured assessments, global frameworks and active capability building, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency and sustainable value creation. In 2024-25, 78% + of our upstream value chain partners were trained on ESG awareness and subsequently assessed for ESG readiness and disclosures.

Our extensive network of distributors and dealer ensures broad market access and efficient services. We have progressively improved communication between our sales teams and channel partners, supporting better coordination, stronger relationships and sustained business growth. In the year under review, we have further expanded our network across the length and breadth of the country. This strategic progress truly reflects the trust we have cultivated over the years and upholds our expertise in meeting expectations.

Lead, a major component of all batteries, is an extremely useful and
friendly metal that does not corrode in water and can be used in many ways:

Roofs in buildings (wherever water ingress is a problem)
Provides effective insulation from noise
Is used in industries to protect pipes and cables
Lead pigments in paint protect steel construction against the impact of weather
Lead Oxide improves the quality of glass in the optical industry
Lead enhances the sparkle of crystal glass

LEAD IN THE ATMOSPHERE

Lead can enter our body through the skin or through inhalation. It gets absorbed in the lungs/digestive system and circulates as ionized lead in the blood. Many a times we ingest food and drink water that carry minute particles of lead.
